A whole lotta games this past weekend, even with the Rush/Wings one postponed. There was also a whole lotta awesome in those games, and the not awesomes are two teams that shouldn’t be as bad as they are.

2024 NLL Week 4
A light week in the NLL with only three games, and yet thanks to the holidays I’m still getting this article up several days late. Apologies for my tardiness but on the upside, there are no Not Awesomes this week! I mean, there were things that weren’t awesome from this past week – for example, Colorado’s offense, but much of that was Georgia’s defense and goaltending. I didn’t think it was bad enough to warrant a whole Not Awesome section. Similarly, Panther City’s attendance was not awesome (in fact, it sucked) but that’s a dead horse I’m kinda getting tired of beating.
2024 NLL Week 2
Another weekend of exciting games, including all the teams that didn’t play in week one, so every team has played now. The two teams that met in the Championship last season both lost to teams that were a combined 11-25 last season, the Knighthawks and FireWolves continue their hot start, the Desert Dogs grab victory from the jaws of defeat, and the Rock, Swarm, and Seals begin their seasons with wins.
NLL 2024: Who’s in, who’s out
Here it is: an almost-complete summary of all the roster changes for each team, all in one place. As of this writing, the season begins in less than 24 hours and I have not seen rosters announced by the Seals or Swarm. I will update this article as soon as I see that information.
Note that these are the changes as of the final roster from last season, so a player might be listed as “In” even if he played for that team during 2023. And a player who’s injured but still part of that team will be listed as “out”. Not all teams have announced who’s on their IR, PUP, or holdout lists so take an empty list with a grain of salt. Also most teams don’t have (or didn’t announce) a “Protected” list, but a few did.

2023 NLL Off-season Report, Part II
This has been a very busy off-season in the NLL. I wrote back in August about a whole bunch of changes, and now only a month later, there are a whole bunch more. And that’s not even considering the 2023 entry draft which just happened. Let’s have a look at the big deals and changes across the league, and one thing that’s not part of the NLL but affects a lot of NLL people: the Mann Cup.
We still have a couple of months until training camps start, so don’t be surprised if there’s an Off-season report, Part III.
2023 NLL Playoffs and Awards
I spent most of the last 3 weeks on vacation in Italy, and it was fabulous. Of course, you’re not here for details on my trip so let’s get into what I missed: a couple of rounds of playoff action, as well as the announcement of the annual NLL awards nominees. The winners of those awards have been announced this week as well, so I’ll touch on those and how I screwed up my vote on one of them.
I’ve seen none of the playoff games so far, since they all took place starting at 1am Central European Time at the earliest. So other than a few video highlights here and there, all of my comments below are based solely on the game summaries and various comments on the games that I read on twitter. I’m going full boxscore cowboy this week.
2023 NLL Week 22
So the curtains are closed on the 2023 regular season. The Warriors, Desert Dogs, Rush, Wings, FireWolves, Swarm, and Riptide are all done for the year. The playoff curtains open next weekend for the rest, and we’re in for some pretty exciting games. Well, you are in for some exciting games. Details on that below.
2023 NLL Week 20
The playoff picture in the West is almost set – we know the four teams who will be in the post-season. In are the Seals, Roughnecks, PCLC, and Mammoth. The top two will be the Seals and Roughnecks but we don’t know the order, and third and fourth will be PCLC and the Mammoth, but we don’t know the order.
The East is less set. Similar to the West, we know the top two will be the Rock and Bandits, and next week’s matchup in Banditland will decide the order. But the other two spots are up for grabs. It could be Halifax/Rochester, or Rochester/Halifax, or Rochester/Georgia, or Georgia/Halifax, or Georgia/Philadelphia, or Halifax/Philadelphia, or possibly others. We could have all four of those teams tied at 9-9, which case I believe we’d have Halifax 3rd and Philadelphia 4th.
There are only 13 games left in the 2023 regular season, but still lots to be decided.
2023 NLL Week 19
Once again, I wasn’t able to see any games this past weekend, so this week’s report will be short. Kudos to the FireWolves for finally ending their losing streak and taking down the Knighthawks and to the surging Swarm for taking down the Rush.
2023 NLL Week 16
Some great news in terms of attendance… for some teams anyway. Panther City makes both the awesome and not awesome lists, Colorado looked good last weekend, and the East is getting closer and closer.
