The parity in the NLL gave us a bunch of exciting games this weekend and few games you might call upsets. But if you bet on lacrosse, you might be more inclined to phrase it as “parity reared its ugly head this weekend”. The old cliche of “any team can beat any other team on any given night” continues to hold true. In addition to some great games, we had a few milestones reached, and in the Not Awesome category, I make a suggestion that the NLL should implement, and it would likely only require them to upgrade many or all of the NLL arenas and cost them an insane amount of money!

2024 NLL Week 9
Wow, what a week! Exciting games, a couple of upsets, a loss by a previously-undefeated team, and some record-setting performances. Let’s get right into it.
2024 NLL Week 8
We had a few upsets in the NLL this week, resulting in wins for three different teams who only had one win on the season. We are also down to just one undefeated team. This week’s report is a bit of a long one, so grab yourself a cup of coffee or something.
2024 NLL Week 7
A whole lotta games this past weekend, even with the Rush/Wings one postponed. There was also a whole lotta awesome in those games, and the not awesomes are two teams that shouldn’t be as bad as they are.
2024 NLL Week 6
For the second time in this young season, I have no Not Awesomes this week.
2024 NLL Week 5
So many games! There were seven games in week 5, and every team except Panther City was active. When there are this many games going on, there’s bound to be a lot of awesomeness around the league, and some not-awesomeness as well. As I’ve said before, I try to stay mostly positive, so here are a few examples of each but more awesome than not.
2024 NLL Week 4
A light week in the NLL with only three games, and yet thanks to the holidays I’m still getting this article up several days late. Apologies for my tardiness but on the upside, there are no Not Awesomes this week! I mean, there were things that weren’t awesome from this past week – for example, Colorado’s offense, but much of that was Georgia’s defense and goaltending. I didn’t think it was bad enough to warrant a whole Not Awesome section. Similarly, Panther City’s attendance was not awesome (in fact, it sucked) but that’s a dead horse I’m kinda getting tired of beating.
2024 NLL Week 2
Another weekend of exciting games, including all the teams that didn’t play in week one, so every team has played now. The two teams that met in the Championship last season both lost to teams that were a combined 11-25 last season, the Knighthawks and FireWolves continue their hot start, the Desert Dogs grab victory from the jaws of defeat, and the Rock, Swarm, and Seals begin their seasons with wins.
2024 NLL Week 1
The 2023-2024 NLL season (I tend to shorten that to just the 2024 season since the majority of it will be played in 2024 and it’s just easier) started this past weekend with some pretty exciting games. The T-Birds dominated the Rush, Panther City got by the new-look Warriors, after a dismal 2023 season the Firewolves open their season with a win against Las Vegas, the Knighthawks came from behind to beat the Roughnecks, and the Wings managed to prevent the Riptide from doing the same. Let’s have a look at what rocked and what didn’t in week one.
2023 NLL Championship
They did it. After losing in both of the last two finals, the Buffalo Bandits got that monkey off their backs and won their first NLL Championship in 15 years. And after a very close game one and losing big in game two, they did it in convincing fashion, destroying the Colorado Mammoth 13-4 in Game three. After losing in their own building to these same Mammoth in game three of last year’s final, the Bandits had no intention of having history repeat itself this year.
